It was Ronaldo's eighth hat-trick in the competition, matching a record set by Lionel Messi.
And his performance drew pundits from all around the world, including his old team-mate Mesut Ozil.
Juventus had it all to do at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday night, after suffering a 2-0 defeat away at Atletico last month in the first leg.
While the La Liga outfit were expected to go to Juve and shut up shop for 90 minutes, the Italian giants dominated the game with 63 per-cent of possession, having 16 shots to Atletico's five.
The opener came just before the half-hour mark, as Ronaldo scored a diving header past Jan Oblak.
Just five minutes after the interval, the forward powered another header past Oblak, the ball barely crossing the line before the keeper scrambled to claw it out. But VAR made sure the goal stood as Ronaldo made it 2-2 on aggregate.
With the game destined for extra time, Juventus earned a penalty with five minutes remaining, and Ronaldo stepped up for his hat-trick.
He powered the ball into the bottom left corner and sent the Old Lady through to the quarter finals.
After the game, Ozil took to Twitter to hail the success of his former team-mate at Real Madrid.
He posted: “Amazing Cristiano show #UCL”
Ozil and Ronaldo shared three years together at the Bernabeu, winning one league title and a Copa del Rey.
