Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, has criticized Maurizio Sarri for ‘turning Chelsea into Arsenal’ in the first half of their Premier League clash with Manchester City.
Chelsea were already 4-0 down in just 25 minutes at the Etihad as Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Ilkay Gundogan all saw the back of the net.
Carragher, who was heavily critical of Chelsea’s performance at the break, did not understand why Sarri’s men put in such a ‘shameful’ performance.
“I called a couple of Chelsea performances a disgrace going into this game, this is as bad as anything,” said the Liverpool legend.
“Looking at Sarri, just over halfway through his first season, but the worst thing I can say is it looks like he’s turned Chelsea into Arsenal.
“That Arsenal team that just used to get battered for the last seven or eight years away from home in big games because they were too weak.
“You never say that about Chelsea no matter what has gone on, but they have been weak. We’re watching a really weak football team here.”
